Visit DIPF at AERA 2014

Philadelphia. 3.-7. April. Researchers from DIPF will actively participate in the annual meeting of the American Education Research Association (AERA) and the simultaneously convened annual conference of the National Council of Educational Measurement (NCME) held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On the occasion, the service unit "International Cooperation in Education" (ice) invites German researchers to the ice-booth at the Convention Center.

In 2014, the annual AERA meeting focuses on "The Power of Education Research for Innovation in Practice and Policy". It will be held In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from April 3rd until April 7. The annual convention of the National Council of Educational Measurement (NCME) is held at the same time.

International Cooperation in Education at the AERA annual meeting

Once again, the liasion office International Cooperation in Education will be present at the AERA meeting, held in Philadelphia. Project teams from all over Germany are welcome  o visit the ice booth and convene there for the purpose of communication. The ice booth can be found at the Convention Center, 200 Level, Hall E, no.101 and it will be open to visitors on:

  • Friday, April 4th, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
  • Saturday, April 5th, 9:00 am 4:00 pm
  • Sunday, April 6th , 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Overview of projects presented at the ice-booth (pdf)

On Saturday, April 5th, at 4:30 pm, ice and the German Center for Research and Innovation (GCRI) invite researchers to a reception at the Hilton Garden Inn. The first part of this event will be dedicated to a discussion by Professor Dr. Kristina Reiss (TU Munich) and Prof. Dr. Marilyn Strutchens (Auburn University, Alabama) on the topic of national educational standards in mathematics and their respective implications in national political contexts. The latter part of this event will serve networking and exchange purposes.

The American Education Research Association (AERA) Is the American equivalent to the German DGfE. AERA aims to improve educational processes by supporting scientific research, its teaching, evaluation and practical implementation. AERA publishes the academic American Educational Research Journal.
