Start of Project: Children’s worlds – Commonsense knowledge and interpretation of the world in textbooks and children’s books between 1850 and 1980
Children see the world through different eyes. Yet, socialization has an impact on how they interpret things – today just as 100 years ago. What kind of knowledge did children grow up with at the time? To find out more, a project covering a broad scope was launched. Seven scientific institutes and libraries work together, managed by Georg-Eckert-Institut (GEI). The team tries out new methods in digital humanities and combines hermeneutic and IT approaches.
