The initiative "DigiZeitschriften" aims to set up an internet service of German-speaking scientific periodicals from various specialist fields as a joint venture following the example set by JSTOR. After a pilot phase with 12 core areas the spectrum of subjects was expanded by education among others.

Therefore, the DIPF became a member of the "Verein zur Digitalisierung von Wissenschaftlichen Zeitschriften", short: DigiZeitschriften e.V., who is coordinated by the SUB Göttingen. For the first time, the circle which consists of special collection libraries was extended by a center of information.
