International Trends in Education /TiBi

This online publication is issued at irregular intervals, and the Institute adopted it as a continuing task in 2001. The journal contains up-to-date contributions resulting from the continuous observation of international developments in the field of education and relevant discussions. Its geographical focus concerns a core group of countries that is determined on the grounds of its geographical-political as well as its interactive affinity with the German education system (Europe, OECD countries). Occasionally, further countries may also be taken into perspective, for instance if they are highlighted by particularly innovative activities. TiBi intends to provide a forum for presenting long-term expertise and insights in a way that comprehends informative short information as well as fundamental issues in the international development in education and international comparative education. TIBI covers a broad scope of content but owing to cutting-edge debates, its current focus lies on the assessment of educational achievement and privatisation.
