Digitisation and Indexing of the Photographs from the Adolf-Reichwein-Archive

The aims of the project is to digitise the photographs from the Adolf-Reichwein-Archive for preservation reasons and to facilitate usage in publications and exhibitions.

Project Description

Adolf Reichwein (1898–1944) is widely known for his engagement in the Thuringia adult and working-class education during the 1920s, his lectureship at the Pedagogical Academy Halle, his successful implementation of a rural school project at Tiefensee near Berlin, his work at the Berlin Museum of Ethnology and especially for being part of the German resistance as member of the Kreisauer Kreis during the "Third Reich".

The Adolf-Reichwein-Archive, desposited at the Archive of the Research Library for the History of Education (BBF) at the DIPF, contains nummerous photographs documenting all parts of Reichwein's life and work. These pictures will be indexed and digitised during the project.
