Educational potentials in older age
Research of learning prerequisites and respective influence in older age.
Demographic development raises the issue of how learning processes can be successfully designed for older adults. This research priority focuses on age-related and interindividual diffrences in availability and use of cognitive resources and the strategic regulation and compensation of cognitive loss in older age. Central cognitive resources for learning processes are focused (working memory, attention control, processing speed) as well as possible influence by training programmes, strategies and context factors.
The findings result in the scientific expertise of the Leibniz Education Research Network (LERN).
