Curriculum Vitae

Alexandra Schwarz, born in 1974 in Wuppertal, studied Economics at Bergische Universität Wuppertal.

From 1998 until 2002 student assistant, following her graduation (diploma in economics in 2002)  assistant researcher at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, business statistics department (Prof. Dr. Gerhard Arminger) at Schumpeter School of Business and Economics, Bergische Universität Wuppertal. Doctoral degree (Dr. rer. oec.) in February 2008.

Since December 2009, Dr. Schwarz has been employed at the Center for Educational  Governance, German Institute for International Education and Research.

Current work and research priorities

  • Quantitative empirical research methods in Economics and Social Science
  • Micro econometrics
  • Dimension reduction procedures and classification
  • Empirical educational research and educational economics,  particularly cost and efficiency analyses, educational policy governance measures, individual (private) financing of education and requirement and location analysis in school education systems
