The priority domain of "Educational Monitoring“" is concerned with assessing the success of education systems: How the success can be assured, how equal education opportunities can be ascertained, how available resources can be put to an efficient use.
The studies are primarily concerned with education as a social infrastructure, staff working in the education system and external outcomes of education.
“Educational reporting” constitutes a central project in this domain. On behalf of the federal government (Bund) and the federal states (Länder), DIPF is commissioned with responsibility for the regular national report ”Education in Germany“.
