Information services

An integrated, customised network of portals provides the basis for information services at the DIPF, and it is continually networked and further developed  The service consists of online portals, full text and bibliographic databases, and information systems and web-2.0 functionalities inviting users to participate.

Printed literature – particularly electronic fulll texts -  research data and factual information,are prepared by the Information Center for Education and the Library for Research in Educational History in a way that users from the fields of research and practice can integrate the information into their individual learning and work environments.

As far as possible, the DIPF makes this information and the documents available in Open Access format. The services also include large-scale digitisation projects of works and editions of manuscripts. The document server peDOCs offers education scientists as well as publishing houses a platform for publishing their works in Open Access format.

Generally, the portals were launched as projects. Following the expiry of funding, they continue to be edited as partner portals of the German Education Server, assuring long-term access to users free of charge.
