DIPF commits to the principles and practices of open science. It makes research transparent, reproducible and reusable and offers society access to findings and to scientific processes.

DIPF focuses on sustainable work and research. Sustainability management promotes measures for ecological, social, and economic sustainability. The goal is climate neutrality by 2035, based on the guidelines of the Leibniz Association and the LeNa guidelines.

The DIPF aims to promote equal opportunities and gender equality, to eliminate underrepresentation of women and gender based discrimination, and to prevent future discrimination.

Ombudspersons for good scientific practice provide confidential advice as independent contact persons for questions on good scientific practice, mediate in conflicts and investigate indications of scientific misconduct.
