Abstract: Das seit 1995 bestehende IHBB hat sich im deutschen Sprachraum zu einem praxisbezogenen Standardwerk der (Vergleichenden) Berufsbildungsforschung entwickelt. Neben praxisbezogenen Zielgruppen ( Mittlerorganisationen in der internationalen Berufsbildungskooperation, Internationale Organisationen, Bildungs- und Berufsbildungsverwaltungen, Unternehmen) gilt das auch für die Scientific Community (International tätige Berufsbildungsforscher, Universitätslehrstühle für Vergleichende Erziehungswissenschaft und Berufs- u. Wirtschaftspädagogik, Forschungsinstitute). Vorangestellt ist ein internationaler Vergleichsteil. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Länderstudien, die sich auf Grundlage einer einheitlichen Systematik auf nationale Berufsbildungs- und Bildungssysteme konzentrieren. Sie geben eineneinführenden Einblick in die sozioökonomischen Rahmenbedingungen und die bildungspolitischen Kompetenzen. Das Bildungssystem wird unter dem Schwerpunkt Berufsbildung dargestellt. Es werden die strukturellen und historischen Entwicklungslinien nachgezeichnet und eine Kontextuierung der beruflichen Aus- und Weiterbildung (formal, non-formal, informell) bezogen auf das jeweilige Bildungssystem vorgenommen. Ferner wird das im Prozess der beruflichen Bildung agierende Personal dargestellt und die länderübergreifende Mobilität bezogen auf die internationale Berufsbildungszusammenarbeit thematisiert. Abstract (english): The International TVET Handbook, which has been in existence since 1995, has become a practice-oriented standard work of literature for comparative TVET research within the German-speaking world. Besides practice- oriented target groups (mediating organisations in international TVET cooperation, international organisations, general education and TVET administrative offices, companies), this handbook also is a standard work for the Scientific Community (internationally operating TVET researchers, university chairs for comparative educational sciences and vocational and economic education, research institutes). The handbook starts with an international comparison part. The focus is on the country-related studies that concentrate on national TVET and general education systems on the basis of a uniform classification. They allow an introductory insight into the overall socio-economic conditions and the political competences regarding education and training. The education system is presented with the main emphasis on technical and vocational education and training. The structural and historical development lines are drawn and a context is established between the technical and vocational initial and continuing education and training (formal, non- formal, informal) and the corresponding general education system. Moreover, the personnel acting within the process of TVET is described and the supranational mobility referring to the international TVET cooperation is dealt with.
