Abstract (english):
Research that investigates respective researchers' engagement in Open Science varies widely in the topics addressed, methods employed, and disciplines investigated, which makes it difficult to integrate and compare its results. To investigate current outcomes of Open Science research, and to get a better understanding on well-researched topics and research gaps, we aimed at providing an openly accessible overview of empirical studies that focus on different aspects of Open Science in different scientific disciplines, academic groups and geographical regions. In this paper, we describe a data set of studies about Open Science practices retrieved following a PRISMA approach to compile a literature review. We included studies from the Scopus and Web of Science databases with keywords relating to Open Science between the years 2000 and 2020, as well as a snowball search for relevant articles. Studies that did not investigate any aspect of Open Science, or weren't peer-reviewed were excluded, resulting in a total of 695 remaining studies. The data set was collaboratively annotated to ensure intercoder reliability of the coded data.

Abstract (english):
Qualitative science methods have largely been omitted from discussions of open science. Platforms focused on qualitative science that support open science data and method sharing are rare. Sharing and exchanging coding schemas has great potential for supporting traceability in qualitative research as well as for facilitating the reuse of coding schemas. In this study, we present and evaluate QualiCO, an ontology to describe qualitative coding schemas. Twenty qualitative researchers used QualiCO to complete two coding tasks. In our findings, we present task performance and interview data that focus participants' attention on the ontology. Participants used QualiCO to complete the coding tasks, decreasing time on task, while improving accuracy, signifying that QualiCO enabled the reuse of qualitative coding schemas. Our discussion elaborates some issues that participants had and highlights how conceptual and prior practice frames their interpretation of how QualiCO can be used. (DIPF/Orig.)

Abstract (english):
Many researchers have a positive attitude towards open science and are motivated to apply them. However, applying them requires a change in one's daily practices. Different factors might challenge a behavioral change. The introduced study wants to get deeper insights into the reasons and influences that lead early career researchers to apply open practices in their daily research and teaching work. The participatory design let ten participants choose open practices they wanted to learn and adapt in either research or teaching scenarios. The study accompanied them and collected their positive and challenging experiences via diverse methods like interviews, diary entries and workshops. This paper introduces the study design and preliminary results. (DIPF/Orig.)

Abstract:
With regard to open science developments, scientometrics might play an important role. Scientometrics enable displays of changes in research practices and possibly measurements of the impact of open science initiatives. Conversely, metrics influence researchers' practices and might be applied to achieve a widespread adoption of open science practices. This chapter discusses open science initiatives and goals, the establishment of policies and influences on researchers' practices. With regard to these developments, metrics will be discussed as an evaluation tool for open practices on the one hand, and as an incentive to foster open science on the other. The last part of the chapter refers to the openness of metric analyses. (DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (english):
Open science refers to a movement that discusses and investigates a shift in research practices toward being more open, inclusive and transparent. The overall goal is to improve research quality and output through better communication and collaboration among researchers. With regard to open science developments, scientometrics might play an important role. Scientometrics enable displays of changes in research practices and possibly measurements of the impact of open science initiatives. Conversely, metrics influence researchers' practices and might be applied to achieve a wide-spread adoption of open science practices. This chapter discusses open science initiatives and goals, the establishment of policies and influences on researcheres' practices. With regard to these developments, metrics will be discussed as an evaluation tool for open practices on the one hand, and as an incentive to foster open science on the other hand. The last part refers to the openness of metric analyses. (DIPF/Orig.)

Abstract:
This paper has been drafted by a group of 12 mandated scientists from six large multidisciplinary Research Performing Organisations located in Europe, the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, the Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique, the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas, the Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Deutscher Forschungszentren, the Leibniz-Gemeinschaft and the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft. Written under the impression of the current SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, it focuses on future pandemics similar in magnitude, the risk of spreading, and impact from a scientific perspective. (DIPF/Orig.)
