Abstract (english):
Adaptive Learning Systems have been developed to improve learning success by increasing learner satisfaction, learning speed, and educational effectiveness. However, authoring adaptive eLearning structures is still a complicated task for lecturers, because they are unaccustomed to the way of thinking and to the workflows that are needed for the creation process. This paper describes a research project developing a concept that helps authors with the structure creation process, focussed on sequencing of content. Therefore, the issue was approached from the authors' perspective. First, storytelling theory has helped understand content structures and provided insights into how authors work. Second, by investigating the linear structure of learning content, information for sequencing could be extracted, providing the basis for an approach that is based on relations of different authors' content, and defining interdependencies that delinearise the content structure. Abstract:
Motivation is a key factor in learning, both in terms of understanding and memorising learning contents. A high degree of motivation will benefit the joy of learning and interest, leading to good learning outcomes. However, motivational problems possibly hinder the learning process and may result in a barrier to learning. Comparable to real-life learning situations, where teaching staff adjust the teaching process to the current learning situation, adapting the presentation of learning content appropriately before the learner's motivation decreases should strengthen learning motivation and therefore learning success. As one main subject to the SensoMot (Schneider et al., 2017) project, it is assessed how motivationally caused learning blockades can be detected early by means of unobtrusive sensors, and learning content can be adapted appropriately. If learning motivation could thus be increased, higher learning success might be effected as well as lower dropout rates in many technology-based learning and teaching scenarios. (DIPF/Orig.)

Abstract:
(DIPF/Orig.)

Abstract:
This book presents the proceedings of the Eleventh International Network Conference (INC 2016), hosted by the Centre of Competence for Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (CCNDS) at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and the Centre for Security, Communications and Network Research at Plymouth University, UK, from 19th to 21st July 2016. A continuing aim of the INC series is to provide an opportunity for those involved in the design, development and use of network systems and applications to meet, share their ideas and exchange opinions. The 2016 event again succeeds in this aim by bringing together leading specialists from academia and industry, and enabling the presentation and discussion of the latest advances in research. These proceedings contain a total of 30 papers covering many aspects of modern networking, including web technologies, network protocols and performance, security and privacy, mobile and wireless systems, and the applications and impacts of network technology.
