A Chaotic Home, Little Adequate Upbringing – and a Lot of Affection

The IDeA center has published the results of a study on the relationships and structures in the families of children with ADHD.

The study at the interdisciplinary research Center for Research on Individual Development and Adaptive Education of Children at Risk showed that the style of upbringing of those parents whose children have an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is often less adequate and characterised by more frequent criticism as well as a more chaotic home. However, they also tend to see their relationships with their children more positively than parents whose children do not have ADHD.

More information and an article on the study in the newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau can be found on the German website.
