Multilingualism in the Classroom

Blog on Learning & Development: video with Prof. Dr. Dominique Rauch

In the video, educational researcher Rauch explains how to deal with multilingualism in the classroom. She is convinced that multilingualism can benefit all pupils in the classroom while also empowering immigrant students. However, in her view it is important to promote the language of instruction – German in this case – and at the same time value multilingualism: a great challenge.

Dominique Rauch is a junior professor of educational science with a focus on empirical educational research, adaptive education and migration at DIPF and the Goethe University Frankfurt as part of the Research Center Individual Development and Adaptive Education of Children at Risk (IDeA).
