The Information Center for Education is seeking to employ:

A Scientific Researcher in Applied Computer Science
with a Focus on Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence and Learning Sciences

The research could lead to a PhD

full time, fixed term, three-year post, salary according to EG 13 TV-H labour agreement for the federal state of Hesse

The post is located in Frankfurt am Main.

Your Tasks

  • Research and project co-ordination in the area of technology enhanced learning.
  • Investigating state of the art multimodal and Internet of Things systems in a learning/educational context.
  • Investigating techniques to analyze, synchronize and transform sensor data into a personalized feedback for learners.
  • Designing, developing and testing software prototypes designed to support the development of complex psychomotor skills
  • Reporting and presenting findings in peer reviewed publications and scientific conferences.

Requirements

  • Very good academic university degree (master) in computer science or related discipline
  • Practical experience in software design and computer programming (e. g. C++, C#, Python, node.js, network communication protocols, etc.)
  • Good analytical and statistical skills
  • Good English language skills (spoken and written) and good German language skills or the willingness to acquire these at the beginning of the employment
  • Readiness to travel regularly for international research projects
  • Academic writing and presentation skills

We expect candidates to be skilled or prepared to become familiar with the programming knowledge in the aforementioned tools, to be knowledgeable in the research fields of technology-enhanced learning, human-computer interaction or artificial intelligence as well as to be creative and possess self-management skills. We furthermore expect candidates to demonstrate distinct communicative skills, a readiness to co-operate and work in a team.
