Abstract (english): Advantages, disadvantages, possibilities and limits of educational television are situation-related presented. The results of educational television research were summarised and analysed for the development of nation- wide vo-catio nal training systems in partner countries. By translating them into Spanish findings are accessible to also for many countries of the "third world". Modern teaching cannot do without the multisensory character of audio-visual aids any more. The new medium however should only be used with other media so that its advantages are visible, without its disadvantages (e.g. stiffness) questioning the effectiveness of teaching. Didactically mature programs of educational television take the feedback between teachers and pupils into account as well as active exercises and working with the contents and not only visual entry to the teaching aims. The audio-visual media are possible only for homogeneous target groups. This however is difficult to realise in the system of vocational schools. The special effects of the medium still are supported by contents with strong plot character and by pres-entation of processes. These advantages also can be used for developing educational systems in order to under-take innovations and close curriculum gaps.
