Abstract(englisch):
Education is generally coupled with very high expectations, on the individual level as much as regarding sozio-economical development. In contrary the article discuss some unintended and potentially problematic consequences of education such as its influence on marriage decisions and social exclusion. Starting from observations in India, research results on the conherency between formal education and the decision for a marriage partner in Germany will be discussed.
