Abstract (english):
Many researchers have a positive attitude towards open science and are motivated to apply them. However, applying them requires a change in one's daily practices. Different factors might challenge a behavioral change. The introduced study wants to get deeper insights into the reasons and influences that lead early career researchers to apply open practices in their daily research and teaching work. The participatory design let ten participants choose open practices they wanted to learn and adapt in either research or teaching scenarios. The study accompanied them and collected their positive and challenging experiences via diverse methods like interviews, diary entries and workshops. This paper introduces the study design and preliminary results. (DIPF/Orig.)

Abstract:
With regard to open science developments, scientometrics might play an important role. Scientometrics enable displays of changes in research practices and possibly measurements of the impact of open science initiatives. Conversely, metrics influence researchers' practices and might be applied to achieve a widespread adoption of open science practices. This chapter discusses open science initiatives and goals, the establishment of policies and influences on researchers' practices. With regard to these developments, metrics will be discussed as an evaluation tool for open practices on the one hand, and as an incentive to foster open science on the other. The last part of the chapter refers to the openness of metric analyses. (DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (english):
Open science refers to a movement that discusses and investigates a shift in research practices toward being more open, inclusive and transparent. The overall goal is to improve research quality and output through better communication and collaboration among researchers. With regard to open science developments, scientometrics might play an important role. Scientometrics enable displays of changes in research practices and possibly measurements of the impact of open science initiatives. Conversely, metrics influence researchers' practices and might be applied to achieve a wide-spread adoption of open science practices. This chapter discusses open science initiatives and goals, the establishment of policies and influences on researcheres' practices. With regard to these developments, metrics will be discussed as an evaluation tool for open practices on the one hand, and as an incentive to foster open science on the other hand. The last part refers to the openness of metric analyses. (DIPF/Orig.)

Abstract:
This list of resources consists of resources for researchers, editors, and reviewers interested in practicing open science principles, particularly in education research. This list is not exhaustive but meant as a starting point for individuals wanting to learn more about doing open science work specifically for qualitative research. This list was compiled by the following contributors: Rachel Renbarger, Sondra Stegenga, Thomas, Sebastian Karcher, and Crystal Steltenpohl. This resource list grew out of a hackathon at the Virtual Unconference on Open Scholarship Practices in Education Research. (DIPF/Orig.)

Abstract:

Abstract:
Open science practitioners embrace the ideas of sharing and communicating their research and interests as well as collaborating with like-minded peers, i.e., practicing co-science (McKiernan et al. 2016) such as on the Open Science MOOC platform. If they admit to those goals regarding their research, it can be assumed that those researchers adapt their attitudes and practices towards learning and teaching, respectively. So, if researchers move towards open science practices, will they do so in their higher education teaching? Will education become more open? More generally, what would open science principles (Bezjak et al. 2018) in education look like, for educators and learners, respectively? (DIPF/Orig.)
