Abstract: Der folgende Beitrag beschreibt die Planung, Durchführung und Aufbereitung der qualitativen Neben- bzw. Vorabstudien und der quantitativen Hauptstudie des Evaluationsprojektes. Zu Beginn wird ein kurzer Überblick über die qualitativen Neben- bzw. Vorabstudien an den verschiedenen Standorten gegeben. Im Anschluss wird das Erhebungsdesign und die Erhebungsdurchführung der quantitativen Hauptstudie an den verschiedenen Standorten beschrieben, dabei liegt der Fokus auf den standortspezifischen Erhebungsdurchführungen der unterschiedlichen Befragtengruppen zu den entsprechenden Messzeitpunkten. Abschließend wird der Umgang mit den in der quantitativen Hauptstudie erfassten Daten vorgestellt, dabei werden die modell-, kohorten- und standortspezifischen Herausforderungen, welche sich durch das komplexe Design der Studie ergeben, verdeutlicht. Abstract (english): The following article describes the planning, implementation and processing of the qualitative side and preliminary studies and the quantitative main study of the evaluation project. At the beginning, a short overview of the qualitative side and preliminary studies at the different locations is given. Subsequently, the survey design and the survey implementation of the quantitative main study at the different locations will be described, focusing on the location-specific survey implementations of the different respondent groups at the corresponding measurement points. Finally, the handling of the data collected in the main quantitative study is presented, highlighting the model-, cohort- and location-specific challenges that arise from the complex studydesign. Abstract: In research on teaching, there is a tension between the intention to provide educational practice with clear and convertible recommendations and the wish to do justice to the whole complexity, contingency, uncertainty and ambiguity of social interactions. Multiple research paradigms address this tension in different ways. The chapter brings together two such contrasting paradigms: Teaching Effectiveness Research (TER), which uses quantitative methods for explaining and predicting criteria of "teaching success" with characteristics of teaching, and practice theories, which aim at reconstructing classroom practice to gain an understanding of the social order in the classroom without a priori assumptions regarding their desirability.
Presenting a specific instantiation of TER, the Theory of Basic Dimensions of Teaching Quality (TBD), the chapter elaborates on two major limitations of TER in general, and TBD in particular: a simplistic concept of relations between teaching and learning and a lack of understanding of the dynamics of classroom interaction. To better understand, and to some extent overcome these limitations, the chapter critically reflects on TER/TBD by contrasting it with a practice theoretical perspective. Using these two paradigms, the paper advances the idea that the dialogue between paradigms can be inspiring for empirical research and theory-building. (DIPF/Orig.)

Abstract: Die Berliner Bildungshistoriker geben mit ihren Analysen erstmals eine historiographisch fundierte und systematisch grundierte Geschichte der Entwicklung und des Status der wissenschaftlichen Pädagogik der DDR. Sie wird nicht mehr allein ideologiepolitisch und -kritisch als Erfüllungsgehilfin der SED-Bildungspolitik interpretiert, sondern in ihrer eigenen Praxis als ein System differenter Wissensformen umfassend analysiert. Als wissenschaftliche Pädagogik hat sie sich von 1945 bis 1989 im konflikthaften Feld zwischen Wissenschaft und Politik, pädagogischer Praxis und erziehungswissenschaftlicher Forschung, zentralen Institutionen und individueller Arbeit zu einer Disziplin eigener Gestalt entwickelt, im Prozess zunehmend mehr auch nach ihrem Selbstverständnis eine forschende Disziplin in einem schwierigen und hoch politisierten Kontext.

Abstract (english): This article focuses on a library collection containing around 9,000 titles of Pädagogische Lesungen [Pedagogical Lectures] (PL), compiled and centrally awarded in the GDR from 1961 to 1989. This contribution gives an initial overview of the current state of research and a comprehensive description of the material diversity of the collection. Besides the historical specificity and heterogeneous composition of the unique material, the article also examines the function and use of the lectures within the centrally organised system of teacher training in the GDR. From an educational and contemporary educational perspective, the scientific utilisation of this multilayered source material is highly lucrative, since it can provide information on the (re)production, mediation and transformation of subject-specific content and school-specific knowledge. Professional debates reflected in those lectures provide valuable inspiration for research into the history and practice of subject teaching in the GDR, as well as for the professionalisation of teachers. In addition to questions concerning the relationship between theory and practice or terminology, the collection can also be used to trace the availability and emergence of new media and materials, which were reflected in the methodological-didactic design of subject teaching and also in the preparation of the PL themselves. Thus, the expansive material offers diverse approaches to research for a wide range of disciplines such as linguistics and cultural sciences, historical and political sciences, and information and media sciences as well as subject didactics.

Abstract (english): Acquisition and internalisation of many fundamental skills rely on repeated authentic practice and teachers providing support during practice. Despite this well accepted norms in skills acquisition, much of our assumptions about learning skills, mostly from a cognitive perspective, remain nebulous. Besides splitting hairs to classify skills acquisition into a paradigm, much of findings of related research from educational science and psychology have struggled to transfer into the domain of skills acquisition. Instead, in this paper, we propose to shift our view of skills acquisition from a cognitive approach to an embodied one with the help of multimodal technologies and provide a use-case which combines deliberate practice framework, embodied cognition principles, and multimodal learning. Abstract: Pädagogische Überzeugungen von Lehrkräften sind ein zentraler Aspekt ihrer professionellen Kompetenz, der für Schul- und Unterrichtsqualität bedeutsam ist. In dieser Studie wird untersucht, mit welchen Unterrichtsmerkmalen allgemeine pädagogische Überzeugungen von Lehrkräften zusammenhängen und wie diese Überzeugungen, vermittelt über das Unterrichtshandeln, mit Lernergebnissen von Schülerinnen und Schülern korrespondieren. Dies geschieht durch eine Sekundäranalyse der Drei-Länder-Studie von Helmut Fend aus den Jahren 1978/79. Ziel der Arbeit ist es, die Beziehungen zwischen allgemeinpädagogischen Überzeugungen, Unterricht und Lernergebnissen unter Berücksichtigung des aktuellen theoretischen und methodischen Forschungsstandes zu analysieren. Es zeigt sich, dass im Englischunterricht die pädagogischen Überzeugungen der Lehrkräfte mit einem unterstützenden Unterrichtsklima und - vermittelt über adaptives Unterrichtshandeln - mit den Lernergebnissen der Schülerinnen und Schüler im affektiven Bereich zusammenhängen.

Abstract: Theoretischer Hintergrund: Für Kinder mit Lernstörung (LS) hören die Lernproblemen nicht mit dem Unterrichtsschluss auf, sondern setzen sich bei den Hausaufgaben fort. Dennoch ist über die Hausaufgabenpraxis bei LS wenig bekannt. Fragestellung: Ziel war es, die familiäre Hausaufgabenpraxis bei Kindern mit und ohne LS längsschnittlich zu untersuchen. Methode: 82 Eltern (davon 47 von einem Kind mit LS) wurden zu vier Zeitpunkten befragt und latente Veränderungsmodelle gerechnet. Ergebnisse: Eltern von Kindern mit LS berichteten mehr Kontrolle und Konflikte bei den Hausaufgaben und nahmen ihre Hilfe als weniger kompetent wahr. Auch forderten sie von ihren Kindern weniger Anstrengung ein. Längsschnittlich nahmen bei beiden Gruppen die Hausaufgabenkontrolle sowie die familiäre Belastung ab. Diskussion und Schlussfolgerung: Die schwierigere Hausaufgabensituation bei Kindern mit LS legt nahe, das Thema bei der Diagnostik anzusprechen und zu eruieren, wie die Familien entlastet werden können. Abstract (english): Theoretical Background: Although research suggests that parents become more involved in the homework process when their child exhibits problems in school, most research has not focused on children with learning disorders (LDs). Therefore, little is known about how parents of children with LDs support their children's learning. In addition, only a few longitudinal studies exist, even though parental homework involvement is likely to change throughout schooling. Objective: Parental homework involvement for children with and without LDs during the transition from primary to secondary school was examined. Specifically, we investigated (a) interindividual differences in the amount of homework support provided by parents of children with and without LDs, as well as (b) the linear trend and the interindividual stability of parents' homework involvement. Method: In this 2-year longitudinal study, 82 parents (47 parents of a child with LDs) completed a questionnaire on homework involvement at four measurement points every 6 months. The questionnaire consisted of four scales: (a) parental competence regarding help with homework, (b) parental homework control, (c) parent-child conflicts during homework, and (d) parents' effort attribution. Results: Bivariate correlations between the scales were mostly insignificant with two exceptions: (1) the more competent parents felt in helping with homework, the more they made use of control, and (2) parents who made more use of homework control, reported more parent-child conflicts than parents who controlled their child's homework to a lesser extent. Latent change score models revealed that parents continuously reduced homework control over the 2-year period and that parent-child conflicts during homework also significantly decreased - both for families of children with LDs and those without. The interindividual differences between parents, however, remained relatively constant over time, suggesting high rank-order stability of parental homework involvement. The results further showed that compared with parents of children without LDs, parents of children with LDs reported a higher frequency of homework control and increased homework conflict. They also felt less competent to effectively help with homework. Significant group differences were also found concerning parents' emphasis on effort: Parents of children with LDs attributed school success less strongly to effort. Discussion and Conclusion: Overall, the study showed that the homework situation is more stressful in families of children with LDs than in those without LDs. The longitudinal results further support the idea that parental homework involvement does not remain consistent over time but rather undergoes some changes as children grow older and transfer to secondary school. Thus, caution is warranted when generalizing results from cross-sectional studies on parental homework involvement to different grade levels. (DIPF/Orig.)

Abstract (english): Since spring 2020, governments all over the world have temporarily and repeatedly closed schools in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Learning at home requires a large amount of self-regulated learning (SRL) where students have to acquire and practice learning contents and skills independently without being provided with face to face support by their teacher. Current research reports that the main difficulties that students and teachers experience in these learning situations are related to SRL (Fischer et al., 2020). But also in everyday learning situations at school, SRL has been found to contribute significantly to students' learning progress, their motivation, and their achievement (Zimmerman & Bandura, 1994; Dent & Koenka, 2016). Acquiring skills for SRL is a necessity for students to become lifelong learners (Taranto & Buchanan, 2020), which has now been shown even more. However, when schools moved to distance learning, it not only became apparent how important SRL is, but also how poorly most students were prepared for SRL. (DIPF/Orig.)

Abstract: Der Beitrag widmet sich den Ambivalenzen, von denen Datenpraktiken in der Schule durchzogen sind. Die Autorinnen nutzen hierfür die Metapher der Sichtbarkeit. Sie zeigen eine dreifache Verschiebung der Sichtbarkeit, wenn digitale Datentechnologien im Unter-richt eingesetzt werden. Diese werden mit den Begriffen Panopticon, Panperspicon und Panspectron beschrieben. Dabei werden pädagogische und weitere schulische Praxisfor-men subtil und beiläufig, aber dennoch weitreichend transformiert. Aufgezeigt wird diese Verschiebung anhand der Analyse eines Interviews mit einer Lehrerin, die vom Einsatz di-gitaler Technologien in ihrem Schulalltag berichtet. (DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (english): The paper unfolds the ambivalences that permeate data practices in schools. By using the metaphor of visibility, a threefold shift is shown when digital data technologies are used in the classroom. These shifts are described with the terms panopticon, panperspicon and panspectron. In the process, pedagogical and other school practices are transformed in subtle yet far-reaching ways. The argument is demonstrated by analysing an interview with a teacher who reports on the use of digital technologies in her everyday school life. (DIPF/Orig.)
