Teachers and the Covid 19 pandemic
Building on data from the ongoing COACTIV-expeRt study, Teacop examines which individual and school factors contribute to successful professional adjustment during the pandemic. In doing so, instructional quality and teachers' professional well-being will be examined.
Teachers hold a special responsibility during the Corona pandemic. With school closures in March 2020, they have had to abruptly adapt to unprecedented forms of distance learning and best support their students in learning at home. The goal of the TeaCop study is to describe how well teachers are coping with these challenges. Indicators of successful coping are the teachers' well-being and the quality of their teaching during the pandemic. Furthermore, we investigate which individual and contextual factors explain differences in successful adaptation between teachers. To this end, we draw on data from the DFG-funded longitudinal study COACTIV-expeRt.
The goal of the project is to assess the quality of teaching and the professional well-being of teachers during the pandemic. Further, we aim to identify factors that explain interindividual differences in these indicators. The available longitudinal data will allow us to examine long-term determinants and changes in indicators over time.
