Information for Journalists
DIPF supports scientists, policy-makers and practitioners in education. The Leibniz Institute generates, indexes and transfers knowledge for education with a combination of research, transfer activities and infrastructures that is unique in Germany. In this way, it helps to ensure that education is successful and that challenges in the education system can be met. DIPF is a foundation under public law with legal capacity which is jointly funded by the federal government on the one hand, and the federal states of Berlin and Hesse on the other.
Educational Research and Information at DIPF
Research expertise at DIPF ranges from educational science to social sciences and information management. In their interdisciplinary work, the researchers focus on:
- national educational monitoring, e.g. coordination of the National Report on Education;
- pedagogical-psychological assessment, e.g. questionnaire development for PISA studies;
- research data and information, provision of open educational resources (Verbund Forschungsdaten Bildung und Informationsstelle OER);
- research on the support of children at risk, for instance at the interdisciplinary research center IDeA – Individual Development and Adaptive Education.
