Individual Developmental Trajectories and Institutional Contexts Across the Lifespan

The research group on “Individual Developmental Trajectories and Institutional Contexts Across the Lifespan” is a collaborative project designed to run six years, established by DIPF and IPN Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education. The team of researchers will primarily be focusing on the analyses of existing datasets from empirical educational research, striving for a comprehensive and overarching perspective on findings and integrating them.

INFLATE – School Grades: Between Inflation, Stability and Deflation

School grades are an essential part of everyday school life and play a central role in school and post-school transitions. The INFLATE project examines the frequently expressed assumption of an inflationary awarding of grades over time with regard to the underlying competencies.

Information Centre OER – Information, Transfer and Networking for Open Educational Resources

The OER information centre offers a thematically specific online platform that provides the public at large and specialised target groups with comprehensive information regarding Open Educational Resources.

Information Extraction From Spoken and Informal Language

In this project various aspects of extracting and using information based on data that contains spoken or informal language are examined. These aspects cover among others elements such as classification (What makes a good answer?) Segmentation and Keyphrase extraction (in the context of transcripts of school lessons) and Summarization of data for Eduserver. In each sub project either the source of the data is from the educational domain or the goal is providing information or tools to researchers in the area of educational research.

InKuBi – Indicators for Art and Cultural Education

The project’s goal is to develop an indicator-based reporting system that allows an empirical description of art and cultural education in Germany from a systemic perspective.

InSe – Instructional Sensitivity of Test Items

The InSe-Project investigates the extent to which tests and test items are capable of capturing effects of instruction.

InSel – Recognise Internalising Symptoms and Respond Professionally

In the InSel project, we investigate how well teachers can recognise internalising symptoms in their students. In addition, we develope and test a psychoeducational intervention for teachers regarding internalising behaviour problems in school children.

Integration CAN-D – Research Exchange and Cooperation between Canada and Germany on the Integration of Refugees

The project coordinated the research exchange and cooperation of researchers in Canada and Germany focusing on the research topic of integration of refugees.

International Project for the Study of Educational Accountability Systems (IPEA)

Item Fit – Statistical and Practical Significance of Item Misfit in Educational Testing

In the context of large-scale educational assessment, items showing model misfit are tested for statistical respectively practical significance.

IvOS – Impact of Open Science

The project analyses the status of the establishment of Open Science at the Leibniz Institutes and in various specialist cultures of the Leibniz Association and derives statements on the effectiveness of the Leibniz Open Science mission statement in order to systematically support Open Science strategy development.

IWWB-PLUS: InfoWebWeiterbildung – Personalised search area for the learning environment

The IWWB-PLUS project is supported by the INVITE funding program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Re-search and contributes to strengthening further education in Germany. It focuses on the aim of enhancing the appeal and usability of the established continuing education search platform InfoWebWeiterbildung (IWWB). Innovative technology will be implemented in this regard, as well as enabling interoperability with other services in the area of continuing education.

KEGS – Competence Development in Elementary Schools – Enhancement Study

The study ‘Competence Development in Elementary Schools’ (KEGS) tracked competence development of students in the state of Brandenburg across five years in primary school (grades 2 to 6). The primary focus of the enhancement study lies on the role of individual differences in the experiences and behaviour of the students regarding their academic achievements and decisions regarding their educational careers.

KERMIT – Cooperation with Teachers in Research on Education

The aim of the project KERMIT was to enhance und improve cooperation between teaching staff and educational researchers.

KI-Lit-Edu – AI Indexing at Literature Information Systems for Educational Research

The project aims to develop an AI based recommender system with automated keyword generation based on a controlled vocabulary. The system will be integrated into in-house systems. The development of a service for external parties is also envisaged.

KiKaKo - Modelling Children's Purchasing Literacy

Funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the interdisciplinary project KiKaKo aims to systematically analyze the purchasing competence and the purchasing behavior of children and to test hypotheses concerning the structure of this competence construct. Furthermore, KiKaKo explores how process data from technology based assessments can be used in an extended modelling of competencies.

Klima2know – Youth-Oriented Information on Climate Change on the German Education Server

The German Education Server is working with the Hamburg Education Server to develop a new information service on climate education for young people. Integrated into the German Education Server, it is aimed specifically at teenagers and young adults, using multimedia formats, social media, etc.

KoaLa – Cognitively Activating and Collaborative Learning Opportunities

The KoaLa project is concerned with researching and designing cognitively activating and collaborative learning opportunities in schools in challenging circumstances. The project is part of the nationwide research network "Schule macht stark" (SchuMaS).

KoMo ICT

The project aims at the empirical investigation of cognitive and motivational facets of ICT literacy, i.e. the ability of a competent use of information and communication technologies.

KonsortSWD – Consortium for the Social, Behavioural, Educational, and Economic Sciences

DIPF and several cooperation partners are engaged in setting up a national research data infrastructure for the social, behavioural, educational and economic sciences in the NFDI context.
