enorM – How Do We Want to Learn in the Future?

The communication and transfer project "enorM" collected ideas and questions from students about the future of learning and education and promoted interaction between students and researchers. It took place within the framework of the „Science Year 2022 – Participate!“.

Enriching ELIXIER, the pool of resources, with metadata concerning externally generated teaching and learning materials and free-licence media (OER)

The project targeted an expansion of the pool of open educational resources searchable in ELIXIER by integrating different collections of materials – for instance from the community portal and social bookmarking system Edutags, aligning them to the ELIXIER indexing standard.

ESel – Effectiveness of Self-Regulation Training

We analyze the effectiveness of self-regulation training by means of meta-analysis and systematic review. The focus of the meta-analyses is on different training characteristics (e.g., use of learning diaries) and on diverse target groups (e.g., learners with ADHD).

European Bank of Anchor Items for Foreign Language Skills

The EBAFLS project (European Bank of Anchor Items for Foreign Language Skills) was part of the Lingua 2 programme launched by the European Commission, targeting a preparation of diverse instruments for learning and assessing language skills. The study was carried out in eight European countries to enable the comparability of European language certificates. The German part of the study, funded by the BMBF, was co-ordinated and conducted at DIPF.

The project accompanies and evaluates the media literacy workshop for students offered by Hessischer Rundfunk in its new media literacy studio CREATOR ROOM.

Evaluation of the German Education Server

The federal government, the Länder states and the DIPF have agreed upon commissioning a study for the evaluation of the German Education Server (DBS) with regard to user and development potentials. This evaluation will be carried out in close collaboration with a study conducted by Hildesheim Univer-sity focusing on information retrieval on the DBS. It will allow for a SWOT analysis and enable a discrimination of the German Education Server from other education portals in Germany.

Evaluation of the Pedagogical Workshop for Learning: Individually and Together! in Brandenburg

The extent to which teaching changes in the participating schools is analysed.

Evaluation of the preparatory service in the State of North Rhine-Westphalia

The project examines the effects of the preparatory service reforms for teachers in North Rhine-Westphalia, which were implemented in 2012. In addition, current questions and developments in teacher training are investigated in more detail, such as digitalization or side entry.

Evaluation of the School Structural Reform in Bremen

A group of scientific experts examines the Bremen school development consensus („Bremer Konsens zur Schulentwicklung“).

ExTra – Experiences during the Transition out of Upper Secondary Education

The project ExTra examines how young adults adapt to the transition out of upper secondary education. A longitudinal study will be conducted to identify factors that are associated with better adjustment to this transition.

Feasibility study concerning the setup and operation of OER- infrastructures in education

On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), a study was conducted to identify the need, acceptance, technical and organisational requirements for a centralised infrastructure respectively a linking service for decentralised offerings in the area of Open Educational Resources. Moreover, this study targeting all areas of education was commissioned to specify necessary system components (repository, referatory).

FePrax – Diagnostic Practice for the Purpose of Determining Special Educational Needs as well as Disparities between German Federal States within the Framework of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

The project FePrax examined the implementation of diagnostic practice in the field of special needs education focusing on the enhancement foci of "learning", "language", "emotional and social development", "mental development", and "autism spectrum disorder" in five federal states of Germany.

The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding this project to lift the provision with educational scientific literature and other sources that are relevant to educational research onto a higher level.

FLINK – How to Read Fluently: Individual Intervention of Reading Competencies

The Project FLINK aims at investigating a computerised reading fluency training for children with average and below average reading proficiency in Grades 2 to 6. Up to 54 training sessions are offered within a school year. FLINK will be accompanied by regularly administered learning diagnostics, can be presented in group settings and handled mostly autonomously by the participants.

FLUX – Assessment of Cognitive Performance Fluctuations in the School Context

The project aimed at investigating daily fluctuations in children’s cognitive performance in the school context by applying ambulatory assessment techniques.

ForSynData – Guidelines for FAIR and Reusable Research Syntheses in Psychology and Educational Science

The project aims to standardise the documentations of research synthesis types and the thus generated heterogeneous data. This will promote a sustainable archiving in research data centres and improve the reproducibility and reusability of such data.
