Abstract (english): The author talks about "the idea of setting up a network of teacher training institutions (within the European Community) in order to promote the European Dimension in Education by direct co-operation between trainers and their in stitutions. With the help of the European Commission the teacher training institutions in all member states of the EC were asked by post if they were interested in joining such a network and if so, in which fields they were partic ularly interested. From their answers 14 themes were identified as being of common interest to the groups of training institutions." He focuses on "The Development of the Network of Training Institutions (Reseau d'Institution de F ormation, RIF)", but also portrays a so-called "Sub-network" of "European Dimension and Multiculturalism" and gives a first-hand account of a four-week student seminar which "was planned and executed in the ICP (Inter-university C ooperation programme) ERASMUS scheme, organised and conducted by the GUARDINI Institut of Hoger Pedagogische Onderwijs in Brussels."
