Abstract (english): The positive development of the political and economic integration in Europe ever since the European Coal and Steel Community (1951), through the Treaties of Rome from 1957 up to the present-day EU also leads to the question of a corresponding "European educational space". With reference to the citizens, this is followed by the inquiry as to their transnational mobility, and with reference to the educational as well as technical and vocational education and training systems, it's a question about determining the assumed system mobility and the logically consistent convergence theory. After clarification of the term of mobility, it is examined whether or not the mobility of peopleis promoted by the European integration. As a result, it is stated that the geographical mobility is most of all due to economic factors. A meta-analysis of comparative studies of the national technical and vocational education and training systems carried out ever since 1953 also comes to the conclusion that these systems have definitely developed in the sense of an autonomous profiling integrated into the national contexts, however, that a number of system elements constitute the European approach.
