Abstract (english): The vocational education and training research, and especially the comparative vocational education and training research, plays an increasingly important part today due to the internationalisation and globalisation of national ec onomies of the industrialised countries, the world-wide co-operation projects of companies, the international vocational education and training co-operation, and the supranational amalgamations as the European Union. Its constitu tion, however, has hardly been successful up to date in the European research scenery. Just as little as it satisfies the demand of a transferable science. If the comparative vocational education and training research wants to be taken seriously and become transferable, its research results must be politically relevant, show a level of theory according to the state of related sciences, and also meet this requirement methodologically. The important aspect in this context in the overall European dimension is the culture-related different relation of comparative vocational education and training research to the result-yielding scientific disciplines. In this paper, recommendations ar e worked out after an analysis of the actual state in the comparative vocational education and training research as to how this defined standard could be achieved in the comparative vocational education and training research in co -operation with the comparative educational science and other social scientific disciplines within the framework of networking.
